Responsibilities of the District as the Facilitator of WBL
An effective work-based learning program must be a school or district initiative rather than the domain of a single individual. The best programs involve coordinators, teachers, and counselors and have the active support of the administration.
For maximum impact, school administrators must be willing to minimize policy and regulatory impediments, take appropriate risks, support career guidance, provide planning and coordination time, facilitate partnerships throughout the community, and encourage the involvement of all students and their parents.
