Papago Park Military Reservation (PPMR) was originally established as Camp Papago on April 21, 1930, by the 71st Congress, establishing the reserve public lands for military purposes. Since its inception, PPMR has been an active military facility supporting the Arizona National Guard and now the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA).
