Santa Cruz Valley Opportunities in Education, Inc.
Our para-professional is providing additional instruction to students in grades 1-3 to create a smaller teacher to student ratio and increase support for small group instruction. This paraprofessional will be in the classroom all day, for 8 hours. This class is a combined class for grades 1-3. The evidence based curriculum we use is Montessori as included on the MOWR list. Students are pulled for small groups based on NWEA data.
For After School- This allocation will pay for an after school program to address learning loss during the 2020-2021 school year. Students will receive help in reading and math using Moby Max which is included on the MOWR evidence based list. This program will target their learning needs and provide individualized lessons. Students will be selected to attend based on their NWEA MAP test scores. Students that are not at grade level will be invited first. In addition to academic classes, our after school program will also include enrichment groups in the arts, and in athletic clubs. These enrichment groups are meant to provide social emotional support and will be tied to themes of growth mindset, and connecting feelings to art.
