AZELLA Spring Reassessment Test FAQs

The electronic results of the Spring 2025 AZELLA Reassessment Test will be available in Pearson Access Next on May 1, 2025. These test results will also be included on the students' EL70 Reports or the records will be in the AZELLA Corrections application. The results will also be included on the EL72 Report.
May 14, 2025 - the Pearson paper copies of the Individual Student Reports and the AZELLA Family Report Guide arrive at district offices.
- 1 copy must be placed in the students cumulative folders' and
- 1 copy of the Pearson Individual Student Report and 1 copy of the AZELLA Family Report Guide must be distributed to the parents.

7-weeks testing window to test all EL students with the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test
Kindergarten through Grades 12 students with an EL need are required to participate in the Spring Reassessment Test in February and March.
Students who are administered the AZELLA Placement Test after January 1 of the current school year are not required to be administered the Spring Reassessment Test.
Kindergarten Students
- If the Kindergarten student has been enrolled in any school in the USA during the Fall 2024 months for more than 60 days, cumulatively, and was not administered the Kindergarten Placement Test (KPT) when they should have been administered the test, then the student needs to wait and be administered the Kindergarten Reassessment Test.
- If the kindergarten student has not attended any schools in the USA for more than 60 days, the student should be administered the Kindergarten Placement Test.
Students who are listed on the EL73 Report as EL Group 1, 2, and 4 as of Thursday, January 2, 2025 will be pre-registered for the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test.
The Kindergarten through Grade 3 students that are on the EL 73 Report (EL Group 1, 2, and 4 as of 1/02/2025) will also receive a Pre-ID Label from Pearson for the Reassessment Test. Students who are not on the EL73 Report on January 4, 2023, will not recieve a Pre-ID Label. This means that their student demographics must be bubbled-in on their student test book and registered for the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test through PearsonAccess Next.
Students who are not pre-registered for the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test by Pearson must be registered for the test through PearsonAccess Next by the AZELLA District Test Coordinator and the AZELLA School Test Coordinator.
All accommodated forms of the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test must be approved annually by submitting the AZELLA Additional Accommodations Request Form by December 13, 2024, for the Spring 2024 Reassessment administration.
The accommodated forms for the Spring AZELLA Reassessment Test include:
- Large Print
- Special Paper Version
- Braille
- ASL (ASL videos for directions and accessibility elements)
- Alt ELPA
- The Alt ELPA is available for those students who qualify for the Alt ELPA. These students must have a current AZELLA record that is eligible for EL program services.
The Distance Learning Program is not a school, it's a program. Students must be registered for the AZELLA test under the district or charter home school. Students must be administered the test in a brick-and-mortar district/school setting. Most students who are associated with an online learning program are administered the test at their home school.
