The interventions provided by ESSER III funds are targeted at providing students with academic, social, emotional, and mental health support. The summer school and after school tutoring programs are specifically targeted to address students' academic needs. Generally speaking, after analysis of NWEA-MAP data, the student groups highlighted above as disproportionately impacted by COVID-19, displayed larger learning gaps than their peers. Because of this data, those students received a higher proportion of the invites to summer school.
