The Arizona Legislature has appropriated funding for full test fee waivers for students taking Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and Cambridge Assessment International Education A-Level and AS-Level exams, starting in SY2021-2022. This program helps supports Arizona's Achieve60AZ postsecondary attainment goal, which strives to ensure that 60 percent of working adults in Arizona have a certificate or college degree by 2030.
Teachers who work with gifted learners must be provided with professional development support based on a plan outlined within a school district’s Scope and Sequence for Gifted Education. Also, teachers whose primary responsibility is teaching gifted learners must have, or be working towards earning, an Arizona Gifted Education K-12 Endorsement.
The purpose of the Dropout Recovery Program (DRP) is to provide an alternative pathway to graduation for disenfranchised youth. DRPs provide a way to continue lowering Arizona's dropout rate and increase the number of high school graduates equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in the 21st century by providing access to educational resources and closing the opportunity gap.
