Happy Valley East will wholistically address the academic and SEL impact, especially for students disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 through summer school, reading intervention and introducing a new SEL program (Hallway Heroes) for students.

All students in our LEA are considered special education. Because of this, having the opportunity to have summer school for the students to make sure they increase their learning help them with what has been lost during the pandemic. Summer school will also give our students the opportunity to have extra learning and socialization. We've purchased assessment tools (Moby Max, USA Test Prep, Amplify Learning, Scenario Learning) to help teachers use data better so they can help their students grow academically.

The 20% Set Aside Funding will be utilized for Summer school instruction for students to assist in learning loss in English and mathematics for 4 teachers to each teach summer school in each of the following three months: June 2023, July 2023, June 2024, and July 2024. School: 4 teachers x 20 days (4 weeks) x 4 hours x $45/hr = $14,400

Concordia Charter School has a very high percentage of students that fall into one or more vulnerable populations, which includes, but is not limited to students who are economically disadvantaged, ELL, or SPED. Roughly 74% of grant funds will be used to provide support of salaries for two classroom paraprofessionals. The paraprofessionals will work alongside the classroom teachers during small group instruction and intervention times. All students receive 30 minutes per day of reading intervention via Fast ForWord.

Summer school 2023 Instructor pay will be funded through this grant. 4 week program.
Special populations such as low-income (we are Title I qualified), disabled students, students of color, LGBTQ+ and children in foster homes will be prioritized in these learning and growth opportunities. We will use Kahn Academy to support the learning loss and credit recovery.

Challenger Basic school will monitor the effectiveness of interventions implemented through benchmark testing, both formative and summative assessments, teacher input and regular data meetings. Students will also be monitored and evaluated based on classroom work and assessments. Parent contact and communication/input on homework and social emotional health will take place on a regular basis and teachers will emphasize participation and regular attendance with students and parents to ensure they are receiving high-dosage tutoring as well as focused work time during after school tutoring.

CAVIT will use ESSER III funding to provide to interventions to staff and students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ten teachers will be hired to provide summer programming using the Career Academies evidence-based intervention program. This summer program will serve at-risk students that include economic disadvantaged, academic disadvantaged, special populations (IEP/504), and SEL students who need to make up industry certification hours, master CTE technical skills, complete work-based learning internships, and prepare for industry licensure examinations.

Summer school program implemented by 7 teachers for 5 weeks to work with students addressing learning loss through implementation of evidence-based interventions throughout the summer and ensure that such interventions respond to students' academic disproportionate impact of the coronavirus on the student subgroups. Our staff effectively analyzes and utilize all benchmark assessments to identify targeted students, inform intervention, and instruction.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Benjamin Franklin students have lost in-person learning time, during both academic years, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Out of the subgroup categories, our most prevalent would be: English Learners, low-income families, students with disabilities, and the lesser prevalent groups are homeless, migratory, and those in foster care. Benjamin Franklin is committed to meeting the needs of all students within the aforementioned subgroups.
