Apprenticeships

 Overview 

• A teacher-registered apprenticeship program that allows participants to become certified teachers for little to no money while gaining hands-on experience​ and earning a wage.

 Local Education Agency (LEA) Information 

• The LEA acts as the apprentice's employer.  The LEA provides the apprentice with on-the-job learning, mentoring, professional development, and professional support.

 Educator Preparation Program (EPP) Information 

• The EPP acts as the apprentice's related technical instruction (RTI) provider.  The EPP provides the apprentice with coursework to earn an Arizona teaching certificate. The EPP also provides academic support to apprentices.

 Apprentice Information 

• The apprentice works under the guidance of a journey worker (mentor teacher or supervising practitioner) to complete the required related technical instruction and on-the-job learning to obtain an Arizona teaching certification.
