The Physical Education Data Project is a report by the Arizona Department of Education that offers insights into physical education course access and participation rates in Arizona schools. The Dashboards allow users to explore the state's physical education data, exploring statewide geographic comparisons, county-/district-/school-level reporting, enrollment information, and trends in enrollment over time.
The dashboard also includes granular detail of physical education enrollment by demographic, including English Language Learners, Free and Reduced Lunch Percentage, Gender, Race/Ethnicity, and Special Education populations.
Prepared by Quadrant Research, the Physical Education Data Project includes school enrollment data that has been self-reported by schools across the state, both traditional public and charter schools, for grades PK-12. Self-reported data is compared with the annual October 1 Data Collection to ensure accuracy of reporting for the 2018-2019, 2019-2020, 2020-2021, 2021-2022, and 2022-2023 school years.
Explore the Desktop Interactive Dashboards, or the Mobile-friendly Interactive Dashboards to learn more about who has access and who enrolls in physical education courses in Arizona Schools.
General Instructions and Information About the Physical Education Data Dashboards can be found on the Instructions and Info page of the Dashboards.
