The positions requested will support the learning needs of all students. The overwhelming majority of our students live in poverty and were disproportionately impacted by COVID 19. All students will benefit from interventions and increased learning opportunities including.
We are addressing the specific needs of students from low-income families, students of color, English learners, children with disabilities, students experiencing homelessness, children in foster care, and migratory students. The reading specialist will be using strategies and techniques as learned in Teaching Reading Effectively, a training provided by Arizona Department of Education. These strategies include: small group instruction through Tier II and III interventions including LNF, ISF, ORF, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension. Tier II and Tier III instruction will happen each day, M-F for 30 minutes each, within the school day. The Reading Specialist will be using RazPlus/Reading A-Z as the intervention program.
