English Learner (EL) Coordinator Boot Camp

The New EL Coordinator Boot Camp training provides new EL Coordinators with vital information regarding Federal and State requirements to ensure they have a solid foundation for EL Program implementation and the details necessary to manage their EL programs and ensure compliance.  

2024-2025 EL Coordinator Boot Camp

We are excited to share that our New EL Coordinator Boot Camp will be a three-part series this year! To better support new EL Coordinators throughout the school year, each of the scheduled three sessions will build upon the previous session. OELAS will provide a single registration in APLD that will provide the registrant with access to the two virtual sessions, the in-person session, and all printed materials/resources. COST:  $180 /person (all digital and print learning materials, access to the virtual session recordings, as well as breakfast and lunch during the in-person session)
 

TARGET AUDIENCE: New EL Program Coordinators with less than three years of experience, District and Site Administrators new to the role of supporting EL Coordinators and their EL Program(s)

Note Regarding Lodging: 

After we scheduled the 2024-2025 EL Coordinator Boot Camp series, the football schedule was released and we found out that there is a Cardinals football game on December 8th. Because of this game, the hotel is not able to open any rooms at the conference rate for the night of 12/8. 

We did intentionally schedule the session to start by 9:30am to support travel for many into the Glendale area.  

Our team did a quick search for hotel rates (12/8 check-in), at this time, it looks like there are options in the area (within about a 15-20 minute drive):
•    Glendale (north of the venue/stadium; around the 101 and Bell Road)
•    Goodyear (I-10 and about Dysart, Litchfield, Bullard, and Estrella Parkway)
•    Surprise (140th Ave and Bell Road)
There may be other options if you search the area. 

If this changes at any point, we will send the details to those registered for our EL Coordinator Boot Camp Series.

Session 1, Virtual (Zoom): Wednesday, July 17, 2024

TIME:  9:00am – 12:00pm

Session 2, In-Person (Glendale): Monday, December 9, 2024

TIME:  9:30am – 12:00pm (times updated 8/28/2024)

LOCATION:  Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel and Spa  |  Glendale, Arizona

• Breakfast and lunch will be provided. 
   
• Due to an event in the Glendale area on Sunday, December 8th, hotel accomodations are limited. If you are traveling into town and struggling to secure overnight accomodations for Sunday night, please email us at OELAS PD and we can assist to see what may be available in the surrounding areas. To help with travel logistics, we did move the meeting to 9:30am.

MATERIALS: A binder of materials will be provided on site upon check-in.
