Access Functional Needs Guidance Documents for Emergency Response Plans
In 2023, A.R.S. 15-341 (A) (31) was expanded to include that emergency response and operations plans developed must address how the school and emergency responders will communicate with and provide assistance to students with disabilities. Planning for students in emergencies means planning for all students, including those with disabilities and special needs. Lessons learned from recent disasters have emphasized and illuminated the critical steps schools need to take to protect their campuses.
