The Exceptional Student Services (ESS) Data Management (DM) team is responsible for the collection, review, validation, verification, and analysis of Special Education Data in Arizona as required under Section 618 of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

AzEDS SPED Reporting
Discover valuable tools for those who submit data for students with disabilities to the Arizona Education Data Standards (AzEDS).
The Arizona Department of Education (ADE) annually must report Special Education data to the Office of Special Education Programs at the U.S. Department of Education. The October 1 Data Collection is part of that process and occurs in three phases.
The Special Education Data Dashboard (SEDD) is a one-stop-shop for public education agencies (PEAs) to securely view their special education data, provide public statewide data with redaction, and certify year-end data required for federal reporting.

October 1 Data Collection
During Phase I, PEAs must provide ADE with the number of students participating in their SPED program on October 1, 2024. PEAs will also report Personnel data and Parentally Placed students (if applicable).
